TBA introduces the first toolkit for assessing ecosystem services in Africa

The Tropical Biology Association (TBA) is leading in building capacity of natural TESSA 5resource managers to evaluate services provided by ecosystems they manage.For the first time in Africa, we introduced the‘Toolkit for Ecosystem Services Site based Assessments (TESSA) and guided it’s trials in Burundi, Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Madagascar, Uganda and Zimbabwe. Happening in forests, miombo woodland, grasslands, wetlands and coastal mangroves habitats, the trials revealed that the toolkit can be reliably applied to assess the benefits people receive from nature.
